In observance of Spiritual
Foundation Days of Michigan
Week, the West Bloomfield
Clergy Association will host
an interfaith Service of
Celebration May 23. The ser-
vice will take place at Our
Lady of Refuge Catholic
Church, 3750 Commerce
Road, Orchard Lake beginn-
ing at 7:30 p.m.
The speaker for the service
will be Dr. James R. Lyons,
director of the Ecumenical In-
stitue for Jewish-Christian
Studies. Clergy of the par-
ticipating religious com-
munities will take part in the
service. A combined choir will
offer a special anthem.

include: Covenant Baptist
Church, Pine Hill Congrega-
tional Church, Episcopal
Church of the Advent, Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses, Tem-
ple Israel, Holy Spirit Luth-
eran Church, West Bloom-

Confirmation
At Adat Shalom
Thirteen teen-agers of Adat
Shalom Synagogue will cele-
brate their Confirmation in a
Shabbat service and program
7:30 p.m. May 21. The even-
ing will also mark the
culmination of Nosh 'n
Drash, the synagogue's
weekly high school dinner/
study program.
The service will be led by
the confirmands. An Oneg
Shabbat in their honor will
follow.

Temple Israel
Judaism Course
Temple Israel will begin a
nine-week introduction to
Judaism course this summer. (
The class, taught by temple
clergy and staff, will meet
6:30-8 p.m. on Mondays,
beginning June 14. There is
a charge for the course.
