Julie Feldman of West
Bloomfield had the oppor-
tunity to meet First Lady
Hillary Clinton and pre-
sent her with a sweatshirt at
the graduation ceremony.
"She's an inspiration," said
Julie. "I was really impress-
ed with her and how down-
to-earth she is."
Julie was nominated to the
commencement committee
by faculty members. She
majored in French and his-
tory and will attend the
University of Miami Law
School in the fall. She is the
daughter of Murray and

Linda Feldman.

Shalom held their donor day
luncheon with a fashion
show from the Somerset Col-
lection. Sue Ellen Kauf-
man was chairman of the
event, while Sharon
Lubetsky was hospitality
chairman. Deborah Mazer,
fashion director of the
Somerset Collection, coor-
dinated the fashion show.

AJC AWARD

On May 4, the Institute of
Human Relations of the
American Jewish Com-
mittee presented attorney
Eugene Driker with the
Learned Hand Award, which
honors lawyers who take
leadership roles in Jewish
and secular communities.
Mr. Driker graduated first
in his class from Wayne
State University Law School
in 1961. He worked as a trial
attorney in Washington,
D.C., and has served on the
boards of many professional
and philanthropic organiza-
tions, including the Detroit
chapter of the AJC and
Wayne State University's
Center for Judaic Studies.
More than 400 attorneys,
family members and friends
paid tribute to Mr. Driker, a
partner in the law firm
Barris, Scott, Denn and
Driker.
