A nominee for the U-M Re- gents Scholar Merit Award, he is also Phi Beta Kappa. He plans to attend Northwestern University's Integrated Sci- ence Program or University of Michigan to major in physics and mathematics. Frohlich, salutatorian, is president of the National Honor Society and member and coach of the forensics team. She acted in and directed school plays, was secretary in BBG, and was in- volved in ballet and USY. She was a Who's Who multiple- year member and received a U-M Regents-Alumni Scholar Merit Award. She will attend the University of Michigan. Gell is the top student in his senior class and a two-term member of the Cum Laude Society. He was president 'of the Latin Club and active in varsity swimming and de- bate. A National Merit Scholar and Michigan Mathe- matics Prize winner, he has served as president of Michigan Region AZA. He plans to attend Harvard University. Gitlin is a member of the Na- tional Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa and has won two Scholastic Art Awards. She is co-editor of the yearbook and was on the ski team for four years and the track team for three years. She will attend the University of Michigan. Goodhart has been an edi- tor for the school newspaper and literary magazine. He is a member of National Honor Society, holds a part-time job, has volunteered at a local science museum, and is in- volved in the March of Dimes, BBYO, and the baseball and golf teams. He received the Advanced Placement Scholar Award and won first place in the Beth Israel Synagogue essay contest, He will attend Cornell University. MICHAEL GURION ERICA GUYER SARAH HAZAN AARON HEILBRUN DEBBI HERSH Heilbrun, Phi Beta Kappa designee and National Honor Society member, is captain of the Groves High School swim team and member of the two- time state championship water polo team. He is treas- urer for his temple youth group and teaches swimming and sailing during the sum- mer at camp. He will attend Oakland University. Hersh is president of Temple Beth El's youth group and is active in MSTY. She earned a varsity letter in gymnastics and was the captain of her team. She was in the school musicals, runs track, was honored by Phi Beta Kappa, attended Girls State, partici- pated in Panim el Panim in Washington, D.C., and re- ceived an award from the League of Jewish Women's Organizations. She will at- tend the University of Michigan. Andover Gurion, summa cum laude, is a four-year member and of- ficer in the marching and symphonic bands and or- chestra. He sings with the Chamber Singers and has performed in various musi- cals. He is a member of the. National Honor Society and participated on the football and track teams. A member of Bais Chabad, he was a member of USY and AZA. He will attend the University of Michigan. She is a varsity soccer player and received the Most Improved Player and the Coach's awards. She was a nominee for University of Michigan Regents Scholar Merit Award and is deciding between Brown, Northwestern, Uni- versity of Pennsylvania and Tufts. Groves Hazan is a Groves Scholar, member of National Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa. She is president of Shaarey Zedek USY and former presi- dent of her confirmation class. She received the Polster Award from Central Region USY for leadership, dedica- tion to social action and Torah study.
