speaker at the Greater Ann
Arbor State of Israel Bonds
dinner honoring Sharon and
Charles Newman 6 p.m. May
23 at the Radisson on the
Lake, 1275 South Huron St.,
Ypsilanti.
Professor Berk is a
historian who has published
studies on Eastern European
Jewry and Israel. In addition,
he is the director of com-
parative communist studies
and coordinator of the col-
lege's program in Israel. He
also serves as an adjunct pro-
fessor at the State University
of New York at Albany.

Sinai Kosher
The Fresh Air Society will
offer two Bubbie-Zayde and
Kinder Camps at Butzel Con-
ference Center in northern
Oakland County on June 4-6
and June 11-13. The weekend
programs are intended for
grandparents and their
grandchildren ages 3-11.
Activities include crafts,
pioneer skills, outdoor games,
celebration of Shabbat, hay-
ride, square dancing, talent
show and evening activities
for the adults. Counselors are
in charge of the activities and
provide child care in the even-
ings. The food service is glatt
kosher.
Spaces are available for the
