Aloiheid,
Make It A Day To Remember
By DANNY RASKIN
What is a mother?...Not an
easy question to answer
because this favorite gal wears
so many hats, playing whatever
role the situation may require.
At one time or another she's
a big sister, a big brother, a
close friend, a father...whatev-
er...And she's the one person
you can always count on for
that certain kind of love every
human being needs.
You can have oodles of
brothers and sisters but only
one mother...She comes in all
shapes and sizes...She can be
just as good dancing at a fancy
ball as she is washing clothes or
dishes.
Mother is a certain some-
thing all people the face of th
earth have in common...
Everybody has or has had one.
These are but a tiny few of
the reasons why we celebrate
Mother's Day every year...
Sunday May 9, is the date for
1993...although my mom,
Minnie Raskin, used to say,
- Why all the fuss? Everyday is
Mother's Day."
It's sort of like a yearly
remembrance thank you for all
the work she has done...all the
tears she has shed...all the trials
and tribulations that go with
bearing and bringing up chil-
dren...all the words of
advice...the motherly love of
which there is no other.
Mother's Day is like a special
momentous occasion for all-
round celebration to a lassie
the whole world thinks is pretty
darned nice...a tribute to a love
of which there is none like it.
Every year, in honor of
mother on her very special day,
many community restaurants
and hotels have a way of show-
ing how much she means with
special Mother's Day brunches
and dinners...Here is a partial
listing of what is going on for
that great gal:
