Talk On Options
For Seniors

Jewish Family Service will
sponsor a free community
forum 7-9 p.m. May 24 at
the JFS titled "Housing
Alternatives For Jewish
Older Adults," to help con-
cerned relatives under-
stand housing choices
available in the Jewish
community for their older
relatives.
The program will feature
four speakers: Dr. Sarah
Gelberd, director of the
Sinai Senior Assessment
and Clinic; Penny Feld-
man, program administra-
tor, Jewish Federation
Apartments; Jan Bayer,
program manager, Group
Apartment for the Elderly
Program at Jewish Family
Service; and Marcia
Mittleman, administrator,
Prentis manor. Judy
Kotzen, senior services
supervisor at Jewish
Family Service, will facili-
tate the program.
Dr. Gelberd will discuss
Sinai's new Senior
Assessment and Clinic and
how an assessment can be
helpful in planning for the
well-being of an older
adult. Ms. Feldman, Ms.
Bayer and Ms. Mittleman
will discuss the residential
programs their respective
agencies sponsor.

Jewish Experiences For
Families in cooperation
with The Jewish News
will hold a family pro-
gram in honor of Israel's
45th anniversary, "A
Mini-Mega Mission." The
program, geared to fami-
lies with children seven
and under, will be held at
two locations of the
Jewish Community Cen-
ter. On May 12, the pro-
gram will take place at
Jimmy Prentis Morris
building in Oak Park
from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. On
May 16, after the "Walk"
the other program will be
from 12:30 - 2:30 p.m. at
the Maple-Drake build-
ing.
Families will start
their "journey" by check-
ing in at an El-Al desk.
We will feature farm ani-
mals from a kibbutz and
real sea-life of Eilat to
touch from the Oceans
program of Living Science
Foundation.
