Mr. Komissarov was

born in Leningrad and
studied at the famous
Petersburg-Leningrad
School. He has combined a
career of both teaching and
performance. His reper-
toire includes practically
all the works composed for
the violin.
Gennady Zut studied the
balalaika from the age of
12. He performed, taught
and directed a Russian folk
music orchestra. In 1976,
Mr. Zut began studies at
the Leningrad Conserva-
tory, performing on radio
and television as a member
and premier soloist of the
Andreev Russian Folk
Orchestra.

Belgium. A recording of
her Jewish songs will soon
be released in Russia. In
March, she sang in II
Trovatore in Turkey, and
in June she will travel to
Belgium to sing the title
role in four performances
of Carmen.
Cantors Larry Vieder
and Howard Glantz will
also perform musical selec-
tions.
The event is sponsored
by the Synagogue's Adult
Study Commission. The
performance is open to the
community. There is no
charge. Tickets may be
obtained at the synagogue,

Southfield. Rabbi Buch-
wald, who leads the
National Jewish outreach
program, is known as a
leader and an innovator in
the field of Jewish out-
reach. He was ordained at
the Yeshivah University
and served for 15 years as
a director of education at
the Lincoln Square
Synagogue in New York. In
addition, Rabbi Buchwald
is the honorary president
of AJOP, Association of
Jewish Outreach
Professionals.
