Mr. Komissarov was born in Leningrad and studied at the famous Petersburg-Leningrad School. He has combined a career of both teaching and performance. His reper- toire includes practically all the works composed for the violin. Gennady Zut studied the balalaika from the age of 12. He performed, taught and directed a Russian folk music orchestra. In 1976, Mr. Zut began studies at the Leningrad Conserva- tory, performing on radio and television as a member and premier soloist of the Andreev Russian Folk Orchestra.
