Grossman, 85, of Southfield, died May 1. Dr. - Grossman was a medical doctor-psychoanalyst; he had been in practice for 54 • years. He was a former president of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Society and clinical associate professor of psychiatry at the Wayne State Medical School. He • was one the the founders of the department of psychia- - try at Sinai Hospital and a member of Michigan • American and International Psychoanalytic Association. He also was a member of the Michigan and American • Psychiatric Association. He had been cited for excellence as a teacher at Wayne State University and at Sinai Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Pauline "Polly"; daughters, Marilyn Leaf of Woodlan Hills, Calif., Nancy Bern- stein of Tarzana, Calif., ; brother, Dr. Carl of Van Nuys; sister, Alice Cooper- stock of Southfield, four 3 grandchildren. Rose Lehrman Rose Lehrman, 82, of West Bloomfield, died April 30. Founder and curator of the B'nai Moshe Museum. She received the annual Seminary Award by the Jewish Theological Semin- ary of America in 1981 for outstanding commitment to "Jewish education and com- munal service". She also received recognition for out- standing achievement by the congregation and Rabbinical Assembly when, in 1974, she was invited by the Rabbincal Assembly to be the chairperson of a sem- inar on synagogue museums and was cited by the B'nai Moshe Sisterhood on the 10th Anniversary of the founding of its museum. In 1960, the Seminary cited her work as a "Dis- tinguished Cultural Asset." In 1967, she received a scroll of honor for her leadership. More than 1 million students were left with no classes because of the strike. The only students unaf- fected by the strike were 12th- graders, who are preparing for their final ex- aminations, and pupils at special-education schools for handicapped pupils. The teachers have been battling the Education and Finance ministries for years, claiming that teachers' salaries have dropped seri- ously behind other govern- ment employee salaries.
