The Return Of Our Old Familiar Menu
With Many More Pizzas & Special Attractions

Might over
VVEly 1,000,000 people
in our area be celebrating their
birthdays at E.G.NICKS?

Also, Dr. and Mrs. Steven
Saxe, Larry and Heather
Saxe, Sally and George
Schreiber, Billy and Roz
Schwartz, Iry and Sylvia
Schwimmer, Elliot Segal,
Sylvia and Harold Simlak,
Arthur and Edna Simon, Fay
and Leslie Smith, Annette
Soffa, Pauline and Sid Stoller,
Lillian Spilker, Ruth and
Isadore Turetsky, Sherry
Vogel, Sam Weinstein, Rose
Weinstock, Art Sugarman,
Leo and Harriet Weiss,
Shirley Werber, Ruth and
Larry Wiener and Milton
Wolf.
And this is just the beginn-
ing . . . It was only the Detroit
Vegas Club's first meeting .. .
Yearly dues are $10 per per-
son and the group will meet
third Sunday of each month
at 2 p.m. . . . Maurey Pastor
was elected president . . .
1901 Calle De Vega, Las
Vegas, Nevada 89102,
702-876-0303.
Now you know where so
many former Detroiters you
don't see around any more
have moved.
DINNER DANCE by
Knights of Pythias, Detroit
55, is set for May 22, 7:30
p.m., at the Furniture Club
on Swanson . . . Dancing will
be to the big band sound of
Tony C . . . $25 per person .. .
For reservations, call Dennis
Mondroe, 967-4442; Ben
Bolton, 569-4292; Harold
Allen, 258-1923; or Ron
Share, 879-2416 . . . Family,
friends and relatives of
members can attend.
THINGS PEOPLE would
like to see and hear more of
at restaurants .. .
Waitpersons taking away
dishes when customers are
finished with the plates .. .
There are few things as unap-
petizing as dirty dishes lying
around while you eat . . . If
busboys are available and
they don't do it, the waitper-
son by all means should.
Restaurants who know they
customers should stop that
nonsense of making people
wait for their entire party to
arrive before allowing them
to be seated . . . why punish
folks for being good
customers? . . . Guests not
bellyaching about the food
they didn't enjoy after eating
most of it . . . Restaurateurs
not bawling out employees in
front of customers.
Waitpersons asking before
pouring coffee refills . . . I for
one hate with a passion fresh
poured into cold . . . Wait-
presons cleaning inside tops
of catsup bottles . . . This
should be done every time it
is given to a customer .. .
Well-meaning restaurant
owners thinking first before
putting certain kinds of fresh

flowers on the tables . . .
Many people are allergic to
them and for sure won't be
back . . . New restaurant
owners listening more to
their waitpersons who've
been around and can teach
them the business if they
won't be so darned stubborn
and just bury their pride .. .
In fact, this could also apply
to a lot of people who've been
in the restaurant game
before.
_ Restaurants not giving
their waitpersons too many
tables to handle . . . It does a
disservice to all . . . the server,
customer and restaurant .. .
waitpersons bringing orders
and not waiting until they get
a lot of them to distribute .. .
This sort of laziness or lack of
knowledge is a big liability,
doing the establishment
much harm . . . Regardless of
how good the food is, people
made to wait because of this
probably will not return.
STORY MAKING the
rounds is of terrorists captur-
ing an American, an
Englishman and an Israeli
. . . Their leader tells the
three captives to make their
last requests before being ex-
ecuted . . . The American
takes off his wedding ring and
says, "Please see that this is
sent back to my wife." . . . The
Englishman asks that he be
allowed to sing "God Save
The Queen" .. .
The Israeli says to the ter-
rorist, "I want you to give me
a very hard kick in the
backside." . . . The surprised
terrorist complies and sends
the Israeli sprawling . . . The
Israeli jumps up, draws a gun
and shoots the terrorist dead
. . . The other terrorists flee
. . . The American and the
Englishman are very grate-
ful, but puzzled . . . "Why did
you tell him to kick you in the
backside first? Why didn't you
just shoot him right away?"
. . . "Oh, I couldn't do that,"
said the Israeli. "I didn't want
to be denounced as the ag-
gressor."
A LOOK INTO the imme-
diate future . . . Calculators
on shopping carts at super-
markets? . . . Why not? .. .
Only question remains .. .
Who will be first?
WONDER WHY . . . super-
markets don't give discount
coupons to people returning
their carts from the parking
lots instead of letting them
roll around to dent parked
autos? ❑

Bricks are fallen, but we will
build with hewn stones;
sycamores are cut down, but
cedars will we put in their
place.
