Center will present a forum
designed for men and women
trying to find enough time to
care for parents, children,
spouse, work and oneself 10
a.m.-noon April 25. Marlynn
Levin, director of program
development at the Merrill-
Palmer Institute, Wayne
State University, will discuss
the issues of stress and offer
time management tips. There
is no fee. The seminar is
presented by the Merrill-
Palmer Institute, Wayne
State University through a
grant from Target stores.
The Parenting Center will
present a workshop for
fathers only 10 a.m.-noon
May 2. The seminar will be
conducted by Dr. Arthur
Robin, chief of psychology at
Children's Hospital, and
David Maiseloff, M.S.W.,
A.C.FW., child and adolescent
therapist.
There is no fee for either

Rabbi Offers
Shavuot Talks
Rabbi Rod Glogower, rabbi of
the Orthodox Hillel Minyan
at the University of Michigan
at Ann Arbror, will teach a
three-part dinner study series
in anticipation of Shavuot on
three Tuesday nights starting
6 p.m. May 4 at Hillel Day
School.
The series, titled "Shavuot
Mysteries: Revelations About
Revelation," is co-sponsored
by Hillel Day School and
Midrasha. Light supper will
be served at 5:30 p.m., text
study will follow. Students
may register for any or all ses-
sions, with or without dinner.
Advance registration is re-
quired. There is a charge both

Abortion Is
Group Focus
The fifth session of the
breakfast and learn study
group will be held 7:30 a.m.
April 27 at the Jewish
Federation Building.
Rabbi Julian Cook of Tem-
ple Beth El will lead the
group in an exchange of
views, employing Reform
responsa, the Torah and
Jewish sacred texts on the
topic of abortion.
A continental breakfast
will be available for a charge.

Century Lodge "Spirit of
B'nai B'rith and Scholarships
Awards" will be given 8 p.m.
May 11, at the Southfield
Marriott. Oakland Century
will honor Rabbi David A.
Nelson of Congregation Beth
Shalom.
Rabbi Nelson has been
president of Conservative
Rabbis of Metropolitan De-
troit, a member of ADL, JNF,
JARC and the Jewish Com-
munity Council. He is presi-
dent of the Michigan Board of
Rabbis and vice chairman of
the Detroit Area Council of
the Boy Scouts of America.
The program will include
the awarding of $500 scholar-
ships to Jewish students
whose academic and social
achievements indicate future
commitment to the commu-
nity. Applications will be ac-
cepted for those interested in
applying for the scholarships
until May 3.
A dessert buffet will follow
the program; there is a
charge.

Midrasha Offers
Jewish Studies
Midrasha will offer potential
students a choice of two times
and formats in which to study
Jewish ethical literature with
Dr. Irving Panush. On four
Wednesdays beginning April
28, Dr. Panush will teach a
class titled "Life As An Art
Form: An Invitation to Jew-
ish Ethical Literature."
The class will be offered
both as an evening course at
Midrasha, 21550 West 12
Mile Road, Southfield, and as
a lunch and learn, meeting at
the Max M. Fisher Building,
6735 Telegraph Road, Bloom-
field Hills. There is a charge,
