The Musical Society will
present the Metropolitan
Opera Orchestra with conduc-
tor James Levine for a perfor-
mance featuring Itzhak
Perlman May 6 and Renee
Fleming May 7 at 8 p.m.; a
Cabaret Ball 8:30 p.m. May 8
at the Michigan League in-
cluding four separate and
simultaneous concerts feattu--
ing (1) the Jimmy Dorsey Or-
chestra with Jim Miller, (2)
Barbara Cook with Wally
Harper, Eartha Kitt., (3) the
Bess Bonnier Trio, and (4) the
Michele Ramo Latin-Jazz
Band; and a concert perform-
ed by the Detroit Symphony
Orchestra and the University
Choral Union with conductor
David Zinman, soprano
Kallen Esperian, • mezzo-
soprano Florence Quivar,
tenor Jonathan Welch and
bass James Morris 4 p.m.

The Joffrey Ballet will return
to Detroit for five shows at the
Fox Theatre June 24-27. The
June 27 performances at 1
p.m. and 7 p.m. are part of the
1993-94 Fox Theatre "Detroit
Dances" Series.
