Choral Festival
At Beth El

Israel's 45th birthday will
be celebrated in song at
1:30 p.m. April 25 when the
Detroit Council of Cantors
presents the Jewish
Children's Choral Festival
at Temple Beth El. The con-
cert is open to the public at
no charge.
Appearing will be young-
sters of Temple Beth El
under the direction of
Cantor Gail Hirschenfang
and accompanist Collette
Rosner; the children of Adat
Shalom, Howard Glantz,
cantor; Scott Stern, choir
director and accompanist;
the youngsters of Beth
Shalom, Samuel Green-
baum, cantor; Lillian
Zeldman, accompanist; the
children of Shaarey Zedek,
Chaim Najman, cantor;
Susan Zweig, choir director;
Carole Lasser, accompanist;
the youngsters of Temple
Emanu-El, Euni Rose, choir
director, David Wilson,
accompanist; the children of
Temple Israel, Elaine
Greenberg, choir director;
Zina Shaykhet, accompa-
nist; and the youngsters of
the Intercongregational
Religious School (Beth
Abraham Hillel Moses,
B'nai David and Beth
Achim), Stuart Friedman,
cantor and accompanist.
The zimriya will feature
selections which pay tribute
to Israel and typify the rich
musical variety of modern
and traditional Hebrew
songs.

Kadima Plans
Fund-Raiser

• Kadima will
sponsor
• "Weekend at Borders," a fund-
raising event to benefit its
supported employment pro-
gram, April 17 and 18, at
Borders Book Shop, 31150
Southfield Road, Birming-
ham. A percentage of pur-
chases made during this des-
ignated period will be donated
to Kadima's program, which
allows adults with psychiatric
disabilities the opportunity to
obtain and maintain jobs as
part of their rehabilitation.

coupon to the salesclerk with
their purchase or indicate
they want their purchases to
be credited to Kadima's fund-
raiser. Coupons are available
at the Kadima office or by
calling 559-8235 and are valid
only on the scheduled days for
