Call The Jewish News 354-5959 JCC Slates Softball Leagues The Jewish Community Center will host a variety of softball leagues for its membership. A co-ed singles league will begin April 18 with games 9:45 and 11 a.m. The adult "open" mixed league will play at 12:30 p.m. on Sundays. The men's slow pitch league will play on Monday and Thurs- day nights beginning at 6:45 p.m. April 19. Both leagues are accepting individual as well as team registrations. Call the Physical Education Depart- ment, 661-1000, for fees and information. Members and non-members are welcome. Volleyball Courts Open The Jewish Community Center has two regulation sand volleyball courts available for teens and adults. Leagues are forming for co-ed adults at 9 and 11 a.m. and for BBYO teams noon-4 p.m. on Sundays. Practice times can be ar- ranged throughout the week by calling the Physical Educa- tion Basketroom, 661-1000. Play will officially begin April 18, although the courts are available now as weather permits. Registration is now being accepted. Call Ed Taylor, 661-1000, for information. Hockey Player Wins Title Craig Lipson, 10, of Farm- ington Hills, won the league scoring title for the second straight year, playing for the Squirt B Wolf and Associates of the Birmingham Hockey Association. Craig, a first-year squirt, led the squirt division with 56 goals and 107 points, for the 1992-93 season, leading his team to a second-place finish and runner-up in the playoffs. B-Ball Playoffs Set For April The 1993 Men's "Honey" Bei.- ris Memorial Basketball regular season ended recent- ly. Victors for the week were Carney, Lesser, Komorn and James. The playoffs will begin April 20 and will conclude with the championship game 7 p.m. April 28.
