Family photographs rest on the unique maple,
sycamore and stainless steel wall-hung server
that was designed by Ms. Cohen and made by
Bruce Hise-Denk. Three restful serigraphs by
Thomas McKnight hang above the server.
Professing a casual life style, both the owners
enjoy spending time in the kitchen. "It's light and
any and I always feel wonderful in the kitchen,"
the owner said. "My wife likes to cook and bake
and we enjoy relaxing at home."

Whimsical art in the
kitchen provides a
cheerful atmosphere.

White ceramic tile, white laminate cabinets
and white on white hand painted vinyl wall cov-
ering provide a clean, crisp setting for this cheer-
ful room. The edges of the square white kitchen
table with radius borders have an Agam-like ap-
pearance with individually laid color inserts. De-
signed by Ms. Cohen and made by Futuristic
Furnishings, the table is surrounded by high
backed vinyl and chrome chairs, each in a won-
derfully bright pastel color.
Welcoming all guests is Daisy, the robust pa-
pier-mache sculpture by local artist Charlotte
Haithman. "My wife fell in love with Daisy at Pos-
ner Gallery and she makes us smile every time
we walk by," the owner explains. The painted

adds a whimsical touch.
A multi-colored pleated
cornice board adds
charm above the pre-ex-
isting window blinds.
On the wall beside the
table hangs the owner's
crowning glory — a
framed Piston's T-shirt
autographed by Magic
Johnson. "It was a gift
from a friend and this was
the perfect place for it. I
enjoy seeing it every
day."
Though they use the
whole house and like en-
tertaining in the living
room, the busy couple
like to relax in their ele-
gant bedroom. "We like
to read in bed and I love
to watch the fish. They
fascinate me," he ex-
plains.
Located past the pow-
der room to the right of
the foyer, the master bedroom is a study in con-
trast to the living area Monochromatic and peace-
ful, it is both masculine and graceful.
Charcoal gray textured paper covers the walls,
while ice white carpeting covers the floor. The
inviting four-poster iron bed by Niermann Weeks
was carefully selected to accommodate the DUX
mattress made in Sweden. "Because of my bad
back we spent a lot of time finding the right bed,"
the owner recalls.
White on white men's shirting cloth is pud-
dled to the floor over the bed, and draped on the
windows to add a feminine touch and soften the
dark background. Covering the bed is a gray and

white-dot Gretchen Bellinger custom duvet with
tailored bed skirt. The bed shams, piped in gray
ultrasuede, match the custom upholstered head-
board.
Between the gray ultrasuede lounge chairs
by Cartwright is a hammered metal stainless steel
accent table. White leather bolster pillows on the
chairs and the two white linen bachelor chests
on either side of the bed add contrast to the dark
fabrics.
Across from the bed sits the handsome wood
and iron Platt entertainment armoire with cus-
tomized interior. On the opposite wall, the salt-
water fish tank provides the color in the room. A
unit of charcoal gray Vitricor built by Mica Art
houses the fish tank filled with beautiful corals
and exotic fish.
To make the dressing room and master bath
appear larger, the designers mirrored them and
redesigned the walk-in closet.
The walk-out lower level has two bedrooms,
for the owners' two children, and a fully-equipped
mirrored exercise room. "My wife is an avid ath-
lete and we spend a lot of time exercising to-
gether," he said.
When they aren't working and exercising, the
owners enjoy movies, plays, and traveling to add
to their art collection. Their favorite room is the
living room, but they enjoy every room in the
house. "I couldn't be more pleased with the out-
come," the owner insists. "It's cheerful and vi-
brant and its always fun coming home."
