Buy LowJell High,

the tribes would have drifted
apart. With it, they were
joined into one integrated
group.
Has the need for unity ceas-
ed to exist in our time? Can
we today afford a fragmented
people, torn apart by schisms
and factionalism? Is there not
an urgent necessity to restore
our shared affirmation of
Jewish faith and destiny, our
common loyalty to our
heritage, and our hope for
redemption?
Although the passage of
time transforms the cir-
cumstances of life, the human
condition remains the same.
Sacrificial observances were
the personal and collective ex-
periences by which the people
expressed their reverence to
the Almighty and their fel-
lowship with each other. We
need to read Leviticus with
understanding minds and re-
sponsible hearts so that we
absorb its lessons and, ap-
preciating their sublime pur-
pose, find new expression for
them in our lives. ❑
