The Council of Orthodox Rabbis of Greater Detroit
Wants To Inform The Public That:

• Simply because a store puts an item in a section that they mark as being Kosher for
Passover, does not necessarily make it so. One needs to look at the specific item and see
if it has printed on it a Kosher for Passover symbol and that it is from a reliable supervision.
• Many items used for personal hygiene and cosmetic purposes have problem ingredients
with regard to Passover. It is therefore very important that you check out the items before
Passover. You can do this by calling our office at 559-5005.

• One may not own Chometz during Passover, otherwise it may not even be used after
Passover. You must sell your Chometz to a rabbi who will act as your agent for its sale.
• Many medications contain Chometz. A rabbi should be consulted with regard to the use
of such medicines on Passover. If you have any questions in this regard, please contact
our office at 559-5005.
