Sybaris Gallery in Royal Oak .
through May 1.
"Borne With a Silver
'Spoon," a traveling exhibition
‘7.nd sale curated by Rosanne
'Raab, offers the collector a
selection of functional and
sculptural spoons represen-
ting the art of the metalsmith
in the 20th century. There
( will be spoons in the shapes
i \ of people, leaves, twigs and
'Spirals — spoons made of
silver with gold or coral, or
acrylic and concrete. From
the petite — baby spoons,
demitasse — to the grand-
chef's tasting spoons, the ex-
hibit will serve as a visual
>dictionary of silversmithing
techniques — lost wax,
[ casting, forging, fabrication
and chasing.

West Fourth, Royal Oak.

The photographic installation
art and sculpture of Oak Park .-
artist Deanna Sperka is the
current exhibit, titled "Car-
nival of Conflict," at the
Swords into Plowshares Peace
Center and Gallery in
Detroit.
"Carnival of Conflict" com-
bines photo montages and
sculpture to create images of
the conflicts between persons
and between humans and
nature.
The public can meet the ar-
tist at a reception 1-4 p.m.
March 21. The exhibit runs
through May 15.
The gallery is located at 33
E. Adams, on Grand Circus
Park. There is free parking,
and no admission charge. For
