large number of single people
living alone, a Passover holi-
day at a resort can be very ap-
pealing. Pamilies living far
apart can select a midpoint to
meet for both the holiday
celebration and a reunion.
Singles will find Passover
an excellent time to meet peo-
ple in a congenial, relaxed
setting.
This year, for a strictly
kosher Passover, one can head
for the mountains, the islands
and the ocean, in locations as
diverse as both U.S. coasts,
the Pocono Mountains,
Florida, Mexico, Bermuda,
Switzerland and , of course,
Israel.
In the Catskill Mountains,
on the East Coast, the Con-
cord, the Homowack, the
Nevele, and Friar Tuck Inn
are all open for Passover. At
the latter there will be daily
Torah classes, and the Con-
cord will have klezmer music
and special shows for children
and teens.
In New Jersey the Seasons
Resort, at Great Gorge, and
the Ramada Hotel of East
Hanover, are both within easy
reach of New York City. Box
lunches are provided for those
spending a day in Manhat-
tan. Among the plays on
Broadway, and off-Broadway,
this season are Conversations
With My Father, The Sisters
Rosensweig, Guys and Dolls,
Miss Saigon, Beau Geste, and
Bubbe Meises.
The Photography of Roman
Vishniac, on view at Manhat-
tan's International Center of
Photography, presents
documentation of life in the
Jewish communities of
Eastern Europe just prior to
World War II.
In the Pocono Mountains,
Pennsylvania, the Tamiment
Hotel is hosting families for
Passover. Entirely kosher for
Passover, this 2,200-acre
resort has boating on its
90-acre lake, a health club
and just about every other
sports activity, along with
Israeli dancing.
The Pocmont Spa and
Resort, in Bushkill, Pa., will
'have cultural programs, and
separate swimming. Also in
the Poconos, the Mountain
Laurel Resort will serve only
shmura matzot, and among

its entertainers will be
Shlomo Carlbach. -
On the West Coast the
beautiful, oceanfront Ritz
Carlton Laguna Niguel will
again become a Passover site.
A synagogue and social,
cultural and sports programs
are all part of the Passover
package. -
In San Diego, the Carmel
Highland Resort's Passover
package - has complimentary
access to the Health Club.
To the south, in Florida,
there are numerous places
for spending Passover. In
Orlando the Radisson Inn and
Aquatic Center, and the
Sheraton World Resort both
come with free transportation
to Disney World, Epcot,
Universal City and Sea
World.
In Palm Beach the entire
Ritz Carlton will be kosher
for Passover, and in Miami

vacation may work
for Passover.

Beach the Fountainebleau
Hilton Resort and Spa will
host the First Annual
Passover Retreat of the
Jewish National Fund.
Guests will have free admis-
sion to the Spa, a Casino
Night and an outdoor
Western Bar-B-Que.
The Saxony Hotel is now in
its 20th year of hosting guests
for Passover. Sports facilities
include tennis courts, a
heated pool and health club.
The Doral Ocean Beach
Resort will also be kosher for
Passover this year and even
has a three-night package for
the holiday.
Other hotels in Miami
Beach open for Passover are
the Versailles, the Crown,
San Souci and Eden Roc.
While in south Florida
visitors can enjoy the varied
arts scene. Some of the plays
running in April are the
musical The Boy Friend, at
Boca Raton's Caldwell
Theatre, and the drama, The
Dining Room, at the
Hollywood Performing Arts.
