The 9:30 a.m. meeting is sponsored by the Jewish Federation Women's Division. For the past 10 years, Mrs. Appelman has been teaching, directing and creating family education programs for Jewish agencies and con- gregations, including Jew- ish Experiences For Families, Family Camp and Jewish acculturation programs for newcomers from the former USSR. Food for Thought is a forum to educate the participants on important Jewish issues and to reach out to women not yet involved in Federation's Womens Division, Registra- tion begins at 9:15 a.m. with breakfast at 9:30. The pro- gram starts at 10. Babysitting will be avail- able upon request for children 2 1/2 or older. There is a charge. A former sisterhood presi- dent, Betsy has served as vice president of the synagogue, originated Adat Shalom's So- cial Action Committee, and was involved in the organiza- tion of the synagogue's adult bat mitzvah program. She is a member of the community's Social Action Committee Council, is active on behalf of the New Americans, and is an advocate for programs to improve the environment.
