rate Teacher Appreciation
Sabbath 6 p.m. March 19. The
service will be dedicated to
teachers, classroom aides and
Yotzere Noar (Youth Helpers).
The celebration will begin
with a Shabbat Family Din-
ner, followed by the Shabbat
service at 7:30 p.m.
There will be recognition of
those who have served five
years, and those youth who
help in Hebrew department
serving as tutors. Elena

Passover Event

Congregation Beth Achim's
Matzah Memories Revisited
will be 1 p.m. April 4 at the
synagogue. This program is
co-sponsored by J.E.F.F. (Jew-
ish Experience For Families).
The activities will begin
with a matzah pizza and
salad bar lunch. Rabbi Mar-
tin Berman will direct mak-
ing of matzah. Other ac-
tivities include making Hag-
gadah and matzah covers, an
Elijah cup and a Passover
cookbook. There also will be
a gefilte fish and horseradish-
making demonstration.

Family Dinner
At Beth Achim

The Cultural Commission of
Congregation Beth Achim
will sponsor a family Sabbath
dinner April 2 at the syna-
ogue. The men will prepare a
traditional Sabbath meal.
Services will begin at 6 p.m.
with dinner immediately fol-
owing. Rabbi Martin Berman
will explain the significance
of the various elements of the
Sabbath throughout the
course of the dinner. Cantor
Max Shimansky will lead
Sabbath songs.

Beth Shalom Men
Lead Services

Congregation Beth Shalom
will celebrate Men's Club
Shabbat on March 20 to coin-
cide with the appearance of
Rabbi Mayer Rabinowitz. Ser-
vices will be followed by a lun-
cheon at which Rabbi Rabino-
witz will speak on "Prolong-
ing Life At All Costs —
Ethical Dilemmas."
Men's Club members con-
ducting the service are Saul
Leff, Mel Chinitz and Martin
Taylor. Torah readers will be
Michael Aronow, Jack Bod-
zin, Murray Ehrinpreis, Josh
Adler, David Schey, Michael
Trotz, Al Goldstein, John
Levin, Jack Kahn and Tom
Wexelberg-Clouser. David
Price will chant the Haftorah.

Men's Club
Shabbat Service

The Men's Club of Congrega-
tion Beth Achim will host
their annual Men's Club
Shabbat March 27 at the
synagogue. Members of the
Men's CLub will conduct the
entire service which will
begin at 8:45 a.m.
Seymour Subar will chant
the Haftorah and Men's Club
president Donald Davis will
deliver the sermon. The ser-
vice will conclude with the
Men's Club choir chanting
special Shabbat prayer
melodies. A kiddush will
follow services.

Emanu-El Sets
Study Shabbat

Temple Emanu-El will pre-
sent a study Shabbat 8:15
p.m. March 26 at the temple.
After a brief service, par-
ticipants will attend one of
two study sessions. Rabbi Ste-
inger will present "Reform
Rectifications — And Other
(Major) Changes." Cantor
Norman Rose will present
"Sing Your Seder - A Review
of the Music of Passover."
An Oneg Shabbat will
follow.

Beit Kodesh
Games Night

Congregation Beit Kodesh
will host a dine and deal even-
ing 7:30 p.m. March 27 at the
synagogue.
A light deli supper will be
served followed by card and
game playing. There is a
charge.
