There is no charge. U-M Hillel Sets Calendar The University of Michigan B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda- tion will host the 14th annual Conference on the Holocaust March 15-21. This year's con- ference includes a keynote ad- dress by Holocaust survivor Solomon Perel, the person upon whom Europa, Europa is based, and a performance by A Travel- ing Jewish Theatre from California. The conference will open with a 24-hour vigil on the U- M Diag 12:30 p.m. March 15. During the vigil, members of the Jewish community will take turns reading the names of those who perished in the Holocaust. Recent visitors to Poland will discuss what the concen- tration camps look like today in a program 8 p.m. March 15. There will be an evening with Holocaust survivors, who will tell their stories 7:30 p.m. March 16. Europa, Europa will be shown 7 and 9:30 p.m. March 17. Solomon Perel will give this year's Michael M. Bernstein Memorial Lecture 8 p.m. March 18. A short com- memorative service in mem- ory of those who perished and in honor of those who surviv- ed will precede this lecture. Martin Pernick, professor of history, will discuss "Medi- cine and the Construction of Genocide" at a Brown Bag presentation and discussion 12 p.m. March 19. A Hav- dalah service will be held 7:45 p.m. March 20 to welcome the beginning of a new week following this week of remembering and reflection. A Traveling Jewish Theatre will perform Crossing the Broken Bridge 7:30 p.m. March 21. Throughout the week, an exhibit, "Lodz: Survival and Destruction of the First Ghet- to," will be on display at Hillel. Shab- bat services at Hillel will be 6:30 p.m. ZOA-Masada Israel Program A briefing and orientation forum for area high school and college youth interested in the ZOA-Masada Summer in Israel programs will be held 10:30 a.m. March 14 at the Zionist Cultural Center in Southfield. A Masada counselor will - be on hand to show a video-tape of Masada Israel programs and brief applicants and parents on application and travel procedures. Richard Emmer, chairman of the ZOA-Masada commit- tee, will preside and Drs. Leon and Diana Warshay will in- terview applicants. Sidney Silverman, founder and chair- man of the ZOA Scholarship Endowment Fund, will advise applicants and parents of the rules governing scholarship eligibility. There will be refreshments. Ramah Meets Special Needs Camp Ramah in Canada will begin a Tikvah Program this summer for special needs campers, enrolling a limited number of special needs campers, ages 12 through 16, for the July session. The new program will in- clude water and land sporting activities, music, dance, fine arts, Hebrew and Judaica education, and traditional Jewish living.
