can attend a different
play, concert or exhibit almost
every day of the week.
Theaters, large and small,
now dot the landscape all
along the coast. Fiddler On
The Roof is at the Singapore
Hotel's Malayan Room in
Miami Beach through March
28.
The famous Coconut Grove
Playhouse is showing Car-
reno. The story of a famous
19th-century pianist, this
play features music by
Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt.
On its main stage, the
Playhouse is running the
comedy Don't Dress For Din-
ner until March 28. Beau
Jest, a comedy about a young
Jewish woman, is scheduled
at the Playhouse May
21-June 20.
The Marco Polo Theatre in
Miami Beach has lined up the
world premiere of the musical
Sophie, Totie and Belle (about
Sophie Tucker and Totie
Fields) until March 14; Forty
Carats
(with Gloria
DeHaven), March 17 to April
25, and Kuni Lemel from
April 28.
The Actors Playhouse in
Kendall is showing the
musical, Damn Yankees, until
March 21, and the comedy,
Sight Unseen, will be at the
Caldwell Theatre in Boca
Raton until March 28.
The Sheik of Avenue B, a
musical, can be seen at the
Parker Playhouse March
9-21, and at the Royal Poin-
ciana Playhouse March 23-28.
Readings of plays are
scheduled regularly at the
Hollywood Playhouse, where
the comedy Nunsense is run-
ning until April 11. Steve and
Eydie Gorme will appear
March 13-14 at the Florida
Atlantic University Center in
Boca Raton, and the small, in-
timate New Theatre in
downtown Coral Gables is
showing David Mamet's

Speed the Plow.

A wide range of music pro-
grams is available in South
Florida. You can hear Joel
Grey on March 14 and the
Klezmatics on March 25 at
the Levis Jewish Centre, Boca
Raton.
A cantorial concert is
scheduled at Beth Torah
Synagogue in Miami Beach
on March 16.
The Greater Miami Opera

has lined up an exciting pro-
gram which includes Mozart's
Magic Flute (March 15-21), at
Bizet's Carmen (April 19-25),
both to be performed at the
Dade County Auditorium in
Miami.
Metropolitan Opera sopra-
no Roberta Peters, in "An
Evening of Arias and Light
Favorites" by Gershwin,
Berlin, Rossini, Verdi, etc.
will perform March 27 at the
Broward Center.
Excellent accommodation is
available all along the Gold
Coast and in such Miami
areas as Coral Gables and
Coconut Grove. The newly
renovated Biltmore Hotel is a
famous South Florida land-
