.mittees, a new downsized
board of directors and a re-
newed commitment from the
Jewish community to get
Borman back on track.
"This (emergency situation)
is not going to happen again,"
Ms. Rosenberg said. "It can't."
State surveyors spent
nearly a week at Prentis, cit-
ing the facility with 20 minor
health code violations. Sev-
eral of the violations fell into
the area of infection control,
but Prentis Administrator
Marcia Mittelman said in-
spectors commended Prentis
for its aggressive correction
program already in place.
"For the last three or four
months, we have been focus-
ing on our entire care plan-
ning process," Ms. Mittelman
said. "We are redoing and im-
plementing new assessment
forms to provide better data
on our residents, and to do
more accurate care plans.
"We are sprucing it up,"
she added. "But we are pri-
marily implementing a lot of
forms that are holding people
more accountable for good de-
livery of care. That's the bot-
tom line." ❑

ADL Denies
Arab Spy Charge
Washington (JTA) — The
Anti-Defamation League
has dismissed as "rubbish"
charges leveled by the Arab
American Institute that, in
conjunction with U.S. law
enforcement agencies, it has
been involved for years in
conducting surveillance of
Arab Americans.
The Arab American In-
stitute released a report en-
titled "The ADL and Arab
Americans: A Disturbing
Relationship," at a news
conference last week, and
ADL was quick to respond.
"This so-called 'study'
, plays fast and loose with
\facts in an attempt to tar
IADL with a series of alleged
civil rights violations
'against Arab Americans
ver the past 20 years," ADL
'ational Chairman Melvin
lb erg and ADL National
'`sector Abraham Foxman
'I in a statement.
