Of Birmingham Tempi

Eli Master, of Huntington
Woods, died Feb. 19. He was
52.
Mr. Master was a real
estate developer and partner
in J.G. Financial Corp. He
directed all facets of con-
struction, leasing, property
management, building oper-
ations and company adminis-
tration. Projects included
multi-family complexes with
locations in Florida, Texas
and Arizona.
Mr. Master also was the
former executive vice presi-
dent of Redico Corp., which
built high-rise office facilities
including the Top of Troy and
the Travelers Towers in
Southfield.
A native of Montreal, Mr.
Master settled in Detroit in
1970. He was the past presi-
dent of the Birmingham Tem-
ple, president-elect and on the
national board of directors for
the Crohn's-Colitis Founda-
tion of America, the chairman
of the University of. Michigan
Hillel Foundation Strategic
Planning Committee, on the
national board of directors for
the Society of Humanistic
Judaism, and past national
board member of the Building
Owners and Managers Asso-
ciation of America.

Syria Questioned
On Jewish Travel

New York (JTA) — Syria's
halt in granting travel visas
to its Jewish community was
expected to have been
discussed in the high-level
_ U.S.-Syrian meetings held in
- Damascus over the weekend,
