Evelyn Orbach

translation for a London
performance last spring.
Ms. Harris was sent a
copy, purchased the option
American
for Exile's
debut, but decided to hold
off until after next sum-
mer.
It provided a window of
opportunity for JET, Ms.
Orbach said.
Exile will be performed
at the Maple-Drake
Jewish Community Center
at 8 p.m. Feb. 27-28 and
March 3, 4 and 6. There
also will be a 2 p.m. per-
"ormance Feb. 28.
The Israeli consulate in
Chicago has agreed to
bring Mr. Lerner in for an
opening-night afterglow.
While here, he will speak
to students at Wayne
State University and
Jackson Community
College.
"This play deals with a
real character (Else Las-
ker-Schuler), the leading
writer of the German
expressionist school," Ms.
Orbach said. "She called
herself a truth-teller —
people adored her, but no
one could live with her.
"She was a delightful,
difficult, wonderful hu-
man being. We all know
people like this. They are
the best people in our
lives and the most diffi-
cult people in our lives.
She insisted on going
beyond the superficial
and, like many Israelis,
was enormously candid."
Playing opposite Ms.
Orbach in the two-act,
two-actor show will be
Randall Forte, a former
Detroiter now in Phila-
delphia who originally
was asked to direct Exile
in Jerusalem.

In a financial environment where the word "friendly" can quickly change to
"fierce,' up can go down, and a bull can turn into a bear, investors tend to scare a little easier.
Of course when an investment management firm consistently offers
proven investment strategies, innovative thinking, and a track record over market cycles,
people often see things a little differently.
