t first, Deco-
Grand's key buy-
ers were skep-
tical when Ste-
phen Grand opt-
ed to import from Israel a
high precision adjusting
screw used in diesel engines.
"Our purchasing people
were asking how a company
so far away could provide re-
liable delivery and quality be-
cause the part is technically
very difficult," says Mr.
Grand, president of the ma-
chining components compa-
ny that manufactures parts
locally for the Big Three and
diesel engine industries.
For the past 15 years,
Deco-Grand has been doing
business with Deutch-Dagan,
a machine supplier in
Ashkelon. Now, each month,
the company imports 120,000
parts a month from the Is-
raeli company.
