Detroit Friends of JTS, in
conjunction with United

Conservative rabbinate,
hold a lunch and learn.

Conservative rabbis alter-
nate teaching the weekly
Torah portion.
"Our programs have
ranged from strictly tradi-
tional text to contempo-
irary poetry, depending on
Ithe art of the Bible," Mr.
Wexelberg-Clouser said.
The series started in
September and was pre-
ceded by a twice-monthly
program taught by Rabbi
Elliot Pachter of B'nai
Moshe.
"This building allows
people to take the time to
study. They don't have to
affiliated," Mr.
Wexelberg-Clouser said.
"We have to encourage
education so we are aware
of why we should survive
as Jews."
By invitation only,
f'ederation's CLAL -
/National Jewish Center
for Leadership and
Learning — is offering
educational programming
in an advanced leadership
enrichment series.
Six classes are offered
throughout the year to
members of Young Adult
Division of Federation,
>Women's Division, local
rabbis and agency and
Campaign leaders.
Yeshiva Gedolah held
its second educational
event at the Federation
Building on Feb. 3. The
topic was the Jewish right
to the land of Israel.
"This is the perfect envi-
ronment to listen and to
/-'-be inspired," said Rabbi
Eric Krohner of Yeshiva
Gedolah.
