The Fresh Air Society and the
Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies will offer seven-week-
long Elderhostel programs
from Sunday to Friday, begin-
ning March 28, April 18, May
2, 16, 30, June 13, 27 at
Butzel Conference Center.
The food service is glatt
kosher.
The academic program in-
cludes the following topics:
archaeology of the Galilee
and the Golan Heights;
stories: the soul of the Jewish
experience; tradition; rele-
vance and Jewish texts; foun-
dations of Western culture;
Hollywood's treatment of
Jewish women; Yiddish cul-
ture; power politics in art and
architecture; versions of the
Jewish mother; people and
families in the Bible: a lit-
erary approach; and versions
of the immigrant Jewish ex-
perience. The faculty includes
Professor John Green, Dr.
Barry Gross, Nira Lev, Dr.
Irving Panush, Corinne Stay-
ish, Rabbi Sherwin Wine and
Dr. Ralph Williams.
Evening activities will in-
clude a Jewish Readers
Theater performance, a
Jewish and Israeli folk dance
presentation, and a Jewish
storyteller.
Elderhostel, Inc. is a na-
tional non-profit organization
which sponsors residential
academic programs around
the world for people aged 60

The Hearing Loss Support
Group will meet at JPM 10

Drake will present the Rev.
James Lyons at 10 a.rn. Feb.
22. He will present current
issues in Jewish-Christian
relations. Bagels and coffee

Temple Emanu-El
Expands Nursery

A regular, licensed kinder-
garten will be offered at Tern-
ple Emanu-El Nursery School
next year. Both full and half-
day options are available. The
academic program will be
scheduled five afternoons,
with an enrichment class in
the morning.
The class will offer individ-
ualized teaching, small class
size, hands-on and whole
language curriculum em-
phasis.
The morning enrichment
component will include
science, cooking, creative
writing and art, along with a
variety of play activities.
Extended care, both before
and after school, is available
as is an optional lunch
program.

Aish HaTorah has expanded
and revised its weekly Fax of
Life. The new format includes
an explanation of the weekly
Torah portion, a dvar Torah,
and a section of current Aish
news. The fax is free and

Aish HafTorah sponsors a
lunch and learn at the Jewish

Zissel Lachman, a graduate
of Columbia University.
