useum Gallery Mounts Exhibits The Janice Charach Ep- stein Museum/Gallery will present two exhibitions through March 18. On the main floor, "The Human condition: Recent Paint- ings by Lev Tabenkin," and on the second floor, "Israelis Today: Dreams and Reality." "The Human Condition" will provide viewers the large-scale paintings of a Soviet-Jewish painter. Mr. Tabenkin, who resides in Moscow, has exhibited widely throughout Russia and continental Europe, an d had work in the groundbreaking Soviet Art Auction sponsored by Sothebys in 1988. The paintings here address ideas about the human soul. The artworks are available for purchase. The second floor exhibi- tion, "Israelis Today: Dreams and Realities," is a photograph and text exhibit organized by the Judah L. Magnes Museum in Berkeley, Calif. This show, with photographs d interviews by Raisa Fastman, addresses the any layers of Israeli cul- ture, looking at the alter- nation between everyday life and political realities. Ms. Fastman is an inde- endent photographer residing in Los Angeles. The Janice Charach Epstein Museum/Gallery is located in the Maple- Drake Jewish Community Center.
