Shabbat Events

Adat Shalom families whose
children attend Hillel Day
School will gather for a Shab-
bat afternoon program 5 p.m.
Jan. 30 at the synagogue.
The group will have a
seudah shlishit (light supper
meal), sing Shabbat songs,
and participate in Ma'ariv
and Havdalah services. The
students will lead the ser-
vices and will entertain with
a short play.
Adat Shalom Synagogue
will hold a Family Shabbat
Service 11 a.m. Feb. 6. The
service is designed especially
for parents and children to
worship together. Cantor
Howard Glantz and young-
sters from the Adat Shalom
United Hebrew School classes
will be the leaders. The ser-
vices are sponsored by the
synagogue's Jewish Ex-
periences For Families
Committee.

SZ Young Adults
Host Lecture

The Young Adults of
Congregation Shaarey
Zedek continue their
Sunday morning lecture
series 10 a.m. Jan. 31 at
Shaarey Zedek B'nai
Israel Center. Rabbi Leo-
nardo Bitran will speak on
"Isaac Takes Off While
Abraham Is On The
Couch: Two Responses To
Life's Crises."
The event is free and
refreshments will be
served. Reservations are
recommended. The pro-
gram is open to young
adults, married and sin-

Chabad Plans
Lecture, Events

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center
will deliver a lecture on
"Reflections On The Holiday
Of Tu B'Shevat" 8:15 p.m.
Feb. 1 at the Torah Center.
The lecture is part of the Pro-
ject Talmud study semester.
Bais Chabad Torah Center
will host a lunch and learn
series 12:30 p.m. Thursday at
the offices of Arthur Liss,
1400 North Woodward, Suite
200, Bloomfield Hills,
647-9700. During these ses-
sions, the Torah portion of the
week is covered.
