Photo Exhibit

The month of February
will see an exhibition
focusing on contemporary
Israeli life at the Janice
Charach Epstein Musuem/
Gallery. Opening to the
public Feb. 4 and on view
through March 18, the
Musuem/Gallery will pre-
sent a photograph and
text exhibit titled "Israelis
Today: Dreams and
Realities" from the Judah
L. Magnes Museum in
Berkeley, Calif.
This show, with pho-
tographs and interviews
by Raisa Fastman,
addresses the layers of
Israeli culture, at the
alternation between
everyday life and political
realities.
Ms. Fastman is an inde-
pendent photographer
residing in Los Angeles.
The Museum/Gallery is
located at the Maple-
Drake Jewish Community
Center. Gallery hours are
Monday-Wednesday, 11
a.m .- 6 p.m.; Thursday,
11 a.m. - 8 p.m. and
Sunday, 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Akiva Plans
Open House

Akiva Hebrew Day School
will host an open house
7:30 p.m. Feb. 17 for its
nursery and kindergarten
programs.
The pre-school services
children with Parent-
Toddler, On My Own,
three- and four-year-old
nursery and kindergarten.
Rabbi Zev Shimansky,
headmaster at Akiva, will
talk. The evening will con-
clude with a tour of the
Akiva building.
