Play Benefits
Lighthouse
The Jan. 29 performance of
Phillip Hayes Dean's latest
play, Freeman, which makes
its Michigan debut at Pon-
tiac's Strand Theatre a day
earlier, will benefit local
charity Lighthouse of
Oakland County. After the
benefit performance, beginn-
ing at 8:00 p.m., guests will
have the opportunity to meet
the author at an afterglow
and symposium.
Mr. Dean, winner of the
1971 drama Desk Award, is a
native of Pontiac. His most re-
cent play is set during a 1956
town election in the town of
Molock and traces the rela-
tionships of two brothers —
one a rebel and the other a
pillar of the community.
For ticket information, call
Lighthouse of Oakland Coun-
ty, 335-2462. The Strand
Theatre is located at 12 North
Saginaw Street in Pontiac.

demolition.
For ticket information, call
the Bonstelle box office,
577-2960.

moving portrait of life
backstage.
