Inter- ment in California. ETHEL ZERRY, 79, of Detroit, died Jan. 17. She leaves her husband, George; daughters and son-in-law, Nancy of Detroit, Joan and Dr. Harvey Golden of Southfield; brother, Dr. Leo Schein of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren. Rabbi Greenfield Rabbi Eugene Greenfield, 87, former Detroiter, died Dec. 30 in Ramat Gan, Israel. Ordained in Hun- gary, he came to the United States in 1927. He served as rabbi in Pottstown, Pa., Oil City, Pa., Roanoke, Va., and Portsmouth, Va. In 1948 he became a busi- nessman and, together with his brothers, established the Greenfield Noodle and Speciality Company in Detroit. He was active in local community affairs with emphasis on Yeshiva Beth Yehudah, where he served as chairman of the board. In September 1971 he retired and emigrated to Israel. There he served as unofficial rabbi of the local synagogue and translated documents for publication for Bar-Ilan University pro- fessors. He also served as administrator of the Ramat Gan Matan B'Seder Fund to aid impoverished Jews in Israel. He is survived by his wife, Julia, of Ramat Gan; daugh- ters and sons-in-law, Bea- trice and Dr. Arnold Eisen- man, Marilyn and Rabbi Max Carmen, of Oak Park; sons and daughters-in-law, Dr. Avi and Betty Green- field, Dr. Ephraim and Rita Greenfield, of Bnei Brak and Jerusalem; brother and sister-in-law, Rabbi Ernest and Geraldine Greenfield of Oak Park; sister and broth- er-in-law, Ella and Murray Bara of Lauderdale Lakes, Fla; 17 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren.
