Machon Program Set On Judaism Machon L'Torah in conjunc- tion with the Jewish Student Network of the University of Michigan will present a two- part learning experience titled "Judaism: Human or Divine?" 7:30 p.m. Jan. 27 at the Michigan Union. Graduate Fund At Hebrew U. Sam and Aliza Nivy have established a scholarship fund for Michigan students to attend the new Graduate Studies Program at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The program, which will commence in the fall of 1993, is designed to meet the special needs of qualified graduate students from abroad who wish to spend a year at the Hebrew University and is being of- fered under the auspices of the Faculty of Humanities, the Faculty of Social Sciences, and the Rothberg School of Overseas Students. Seminars and tutorials will be offered in Jewish studies, political science, comparative religion, Hebrew, Yiddish and Arabic. Courses will be taught in English; however, students with a sufficient command of Hebrew will also have the option of taking regular graduate courses taught in Hebrew. The pro- gram is open to M.A. or Ph.D. candidates or recent college graduates who have not yet commenced a program of graduate study. Applicants for the Nivy Scholarships should have a mininum 3.0 undergraduate average and be residents of the State of Michigan.
