Mr. and Mrs. Sheldon Plotnik
of West Bloomfield are

engagement of their son, Dr.
Ronald Plotnik, to Joy Marla
Ryen, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Ryen of Rochester,
N.Y.
Joy received her under-
graduate degree from
Brandeis University and her
juris doctorate from Boston
University School of Law. She
is an associate at the Roches-
ter, New York, firm of Harter,
Secrest and Emory where she
concentrates her practice in
the area of trusts and estates.

Ron received his under-
gTaduate and medical degrees
from the University of
Michigan, completed an K
ophthalmology residency at
the University of Wisconsin
and completed a fellowship in—/
cornea and external disease
at the University of Cali
fornia-Davis. He is an oph-
thalmologist on the faculty of
the University of Rochester
School of Medicine and a
specialist in cornea trans-
plant surgery.
