Parenting...

F

or the last 5,000 years, we
Jewish parents have
loved, guided, taught,
and encouraged our
children and our children's
children. Parenting is at the heart
of our proud Jewish heritage; a
family means life itself.

Raising a child involves many
choices. For parents raising a
Jewish child, these choices are
enriched by tradition, rituals, and
Torah. Through the centuries,
Judaism has been devoted to the
wisdom of a way of life. Now, in
the 1990s, we are faced with new
circumstances.

Our Jewish Parenting Center has
been established to help all
families in the community
address contemporary challenges
as well as traditional questions. It
is a loving and educational place,

a place where we can gain
strength by sharing individual
experiences and seeking the
expertise of others.

Our Jewish Parenting Center is
for all parents — new parents,
single parents, grandparents,
experienced and "slightly-used"
parents. All are welcome to share
their knowledge, insights, and
especially their desire to continue
the Jewish tradition of family into
the 21st century. Here is a place
for those who seek real answers.

The Eugene and Marcia
Applebaum Jewish Parenting
Center is a state-of-the-art facility
with a multi-media resource
center, library, playgrounds,
activity rooms and classrooms.
We are fully staffed with trained
professionals who are dedicated to
helping you be the best Jewish

parent you can be. From the
blessing and naming of a new
baby to the Bar/Bat Mitzvah
years, to one day standing under
the Chupah, our Jewish Parenting
Center provides information,
resources and support to help
bring Judaism into the heart of
family life.

To instill confidence.

To build self esteem.

To enable parents to act
wisely.
