JACK VICTOR, 86, of Oak

Robert La Kind
Robert J. (Bobby) La Kind, 47,
a percussionist for the Doobie
Brothers rock group, died Dec.
24 in Los Angeles. Mr. La
Kind was a composer for the
Doobies, sang and played the
keyboard. Mr. La Kind was
the group's road manager
before becoming a full-time
performer. He joined the
Doobies in the 1970s and re-
mained until the group broke
up in 1982. He returned to
perform on "Cycles," the
group's 1989 reunion album.
He is survived by two sons;
brother, Dr. Stuart D. La Kind
of West Bloomfield; sister,
Gwen Hoffman of Miami, Fla.
