he Sinai Hospital
Guild recently spon-
sored a theater party
afterglow with the
Jewish Ensemble Theater's
current production of The
Queen's Physician. Marlene
and Jerome Gropman
and Cis and Martin
Kellman sponsored the
afterglow for more than 100
patrons. The event raised
more than $7,500 and the
proceeds from the afterglow
were donated to Sinai's
Cancer Counseling Pro-
gram.
"We were thrilled and
delighted by the strong sup-
port for this innovative pro-
gram," said Hope Silver-
man, Sinai Guild president.
Linda Diaz, coordinator of
the Sinai Cancer Counseling
Program, added, "The
afterglow and the generosity
of those who supported this
event will help us to con-
tinue this important ser-
vice."

Alan Schwartz.

HANDCRAFTED MENORAHS

Akiva Hebrew Day School
created homemade meno-
rahs this year. Grades three
through six used materials
creatively to invent non-
working but beautiful meno-
rahs. Jodi Wolf at the
Franklin Racquet Club do-
nated empty tennis cans for
the project.

usually discard. Bottlecaps,
old medicine containers, tin
foil, tennis cans and egg car-
tons were turned into beau-
tiful Chanukah menorahs,"
said Barbara Wool, art
teacher.
