Otto Graf

Professor Otto Graf, 82, of
Ann Arbor, died Dec. 15.
Born in Indianapolis, Ind.,
he moved to Ann Arbor in
1925 after activities in New
York as a child prodigy
pianist. Professor Graf
joined the faculty of the
University of Michigan in
1929. During WWII and
Korean conflict, he was a
major in the Armed Forces.
A 50-year member of the
faculty of the University of
Michigan, he taught Ger-
man, classics and comedy
and tragedy. From 1963-
1978, he was the director of
the Honors Program - which
became the model of the for-
mulation of University hon-
ors programs nationwide.
He was the director of the
Woodrow Wilson Found-
ation in the Midwestern
area for several years.
He leaves his wife, Sarah
W. Graf; son, Erich L. of
Salt Lake City, Utah; sister
Herta Seferenz of Florida.

Sidney Wolf's age should

German Loan
To Israel

Berlin (JTA) — The German

government is making some
$90 million worth of aid
available to Israel this year.
A similar amount will be
provided in 1993, Vice For-
eign Minister Helmut
Schaefer told the Bundestag
last week.
