Schneyer

Dr. Jerome J. Schneyer, 57,
of Southfield, died Dec. 8. A
medical doctor in general
practice in Southfield for 22
years, Dr. Schneyer also
was the medical director of
Royal Maccabees Life
Insurance. A member of the
board of Maccabees Life
Insurance, he was a gradu-
ate of the University of
Michigan and Wayne State
University Medical School.
A captain in the Air Force,
he was promoted to Lt.
Colonel in the reserves. A
life master bridge player,
Dr. Schneyer wrote a bridge
column in the late 1960s
and early '70s for the
Southfield News. He taught
English history and science
fiction at Cranbrook. He
wrote for the Birmingham
Temple. He was board certi-
fied in family medicine and
was the oldest person to
pass the Insurance
Medicine Boards.
He leaves his wife, Nina;
son and daughter-in-law,
Kenneth Schneyer and
Janice Okoomian of
Barrington, R.I.; daughters
and son-in-law, Elizabeth of
Sausalito, Calif., Margaret
and Jeffrey Beaudry of
Greenbelt, Md., Carolyn of
Southfield; brother and sis-
ter-in-law, Sherwin and
Marcia of Farmington Hills.
