THE FINAL MOMENT

QUESTION: I have looked at
several homes with my Realtor.
I have finally made a mental
decision on the particular
house I want to buy. What is
the next step?
ANSWER: Let your REAL-
TOR handle the actual price
negotiations. This is always the
toughest and most sensitive
part of any home purchase.
He's an expert in this type of
negotiation. He knows both
party's financial positions, and
can usually come out with a
better arrangement than per-
sonal confrontation between
principals. One party will
usually be at a disadvantage.
Not all homes sell at the asking
price — but don't ask him to
do the impossible.

ONCE YOU'VE made your
decision to buy, let the
Realtor handle the price
negotiations.
