Museum/Gallery will present
"Feast of Lights: Art and
Tradition of the Chanukah
mp" Dec. 20-Jan. 28.
Curated by Anita Plous,
this exhibition will feature
imost 100 Chanukah lamps,
ooks and posters, chosen to
exemplify the various
cultures and periods of time
that help explain the holiday
of Chanukah and the impor-
tance the menorah has played
in celebrating the holiday.
A catalogue documenting
the exhibition, with an in-
troductory essay by Dr.
Joseph Gutmann, will accom-
pany the exhibition. Judaica
collectors from Chicago, New
York and Detroit have lent ob-
jects to this exhibition, as well
as synagogues in the Detroit
metropolitan area.
The second floor gallery
will feature an exhibition titl-
ed "The Holy Land, Then and
Now" from the Harvard
Semitic Museum. This photo-
graphic exhibition includes
photographs taken of
historical sites in Israel over
100 years ago. 0

Rabbi Martin Berman of Con-
gregation Beth Achim will be
the speaker at the Dec. 17
lunch and learn lecture co-
sponsored by B'nai B'rith
Michigan Regional Council,
Michigan Board of Rabbis
and the Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies. It will be held
noon Dec. 17 at the United
Hebrew Schools. Lunch will
precede the lecture.
