Hearing Loss
Group Meets

Post, Auxiliary
Hold Party

The Hearing Loss Support
Group of the Jewish Corn-
munity Center will hold
meetings in December.
The group will be joined 7
p.m. Dec. 16 by Marilyn Lewis
of the Deaf, Hearing and
Speech Center for a discus-
sion on coping skills for those
with hearing impairments at
the Maple-Drake building.
The group will meet 1:30
p.m. Dec. 21 in West Bloom-
field for a presentation on a
unique new telephone sys-
tem, Plantronics, by John
Waters.
The group will meet at the
Jimmy Prentis Morris build-
ing 10 a.m. Dec. 11 for a
discussion led by Marilyn
Lewis.

The Charles Shapiro Post and
Ladies Auxiliary of the
Jewish War Veterans have
scheduled their annual
Chanukah Party for 6:30 p.m.
Dec. 12 at the Jewish War
Veterans Memorial building.
Entertainer Judy Goldstein
will sing after dinner. There
is a charge and reservations

Sets Celebration

The Eugene and Marcia Ap-
plebaum Jewish Parenting
Center of Congregation
Shaarey Zedek will hold two
events for families with
young children 7-8 p.m. Dec.
14 at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek and 7-8 Rm. Dec. 16 at
the Parenting Center. Chanu-
kah songs, games, crafts,
books, recipes and customs
will be taught.
There will be a sing along
with Loie Meeron and re-
freshments. No admission
will be charged. Participants
are asked to bring coats, hats,
and/or mittens as tzedakah
for the needy.

Chabad Plans
Lecture, Trip

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg of
Bais Chabad Torah Center
will deliver a lecture on
"Chanukah — Practical Im-
plications and Kabbalistic In-
sights" 8:15 p.m. Dec. 14 at

Kol Ami Hosts
Study Group

The first Reform "breakfast
and learn" study group at the
Jewish Federation Building
will begin 7:30 a.m. Dec. 15.
The study group, sponsored
by Temple Kol Ami, joins
Conservative and Orthodox
classes held at the building.
Rabbi Norman Roman will
lead a discussion on applying
the Torah and Jewish sacred
texts to everyday situations.

Plans Visit

The Low-Vision Peer Support
Group of the r Jewish Com-
munity Center will visit the
Vision Rehabilitation In-
stitute of Detroit Receiving
Hospital on Dec. 23.
The bus will depart from
the Maple-Drake building at
9:15 a.m. and from the Jimmy
Prentis Morris building at 10
a.m. The group will meet
with the hospital's staff and
participate in demonstrations
of new adaptive equipment.

The Henry Morgenthau
L'Chayim Lodge and the
Morgenthau Chapter will
hold the annual Chanukah
