Gives Talk

Dr. Joseph Gutmann, art
historian, will speak 8:30 p.m.
Dec. 11 at the meeting of the
Sholem Aleichem Institute.
His topic will be "Christian
Influences in Judaism."
The meeting will be in the
Franklin Pointe Clubhouse
and is open to the public.

Jewish Home for Aged's Bor-
Ilman Hall, Prentis Manor and
Ole Fleischman Residence;
la Hospital; Simon House,
la transitional home for
women and children with
AIDS; the Interim House and
Turning Point shelters for vic-
tims of domestic violence and
their children; Teitel and
Prentis Federation Apart-
ments; and the Baldwin
Human Services Center and
St. Leo's Parish soup
kitchens.
After meeting for breakfast
at the Max M. Fisher Build-
Ltng, 6735 Telegraph Rd.,

voianteers will go to their
Pre-determined sites.
Activities at the Jewish
Home for Aged's three sites
will include celebrating
Chanukah with residents.
Volunteers at Sinai Hospital
will work with staff, visiting
with patients and assisting
with the gift and library
carts. Another group at Pren-
tis and Teitel Federation
Apartments will celebrate
Chanukah over lunch with
residents, approximately 20
• ercent of whom have come
from the former Soviet Union.
Groups also will help
prepare and serve lunch at St.
Leo's Parish Soup Kitchen
15th St. and Grand River in
Detroit, Baldwin Human Ser-
vices Center in Pontiac,
Simon House, Interim House
in Detroit and Turning Point
in Macomb County.
The event is being organ-
ized by Eric Gould and James
Bellinson, who chair the YAD
Volunteer Committee, and
Debra Raven, B & P event
chairperson.
Participants are encouraged
to bring kosher canned food
in support of Yad Ezra, the
community's kosher food
bank.
