in which she also appears,
explores the reunion of six
friends.
"I like to say that we come
in on the same plane," she
commented about their pro
fessional and private rela-
tionship. "We laugh at the
same things. We admire the
same artists. We think the
same things are funny and
want to go in the same direc-
tions with the characters.
We agree on practically
everything. That's why we
got married."
They make their home in
California, enjoy tennis,
swimming, reading and gec:
ing out to dinner. She also
devotes some of her free
time to causes that have
special meaning for her and
recently did benefits to raise
funds for Big Sisters and
Brandeis University's li-
braries.
While Ms. Rudner hopes
her future will bring more
screenplays to develop, she
talked about a more im-
mediate writing project. She
is preparing for a year-end
engagement in England,
where she will be telling
jokes at a Royal Variety
Command Performance for
the Prince and Princess of
Wales, Charles and Diana.
As she structures her acf
for that event, she still
thinks in terms of the ties
between adversity and corn-
edy and knows where to
draw the line.
"I'm not going to do too
many divorce jokes," sh,,
said. ❑
