Linda Lee and Dr. Mark L.
Diem will head up two Super
Weeks on behalf of the 1993
Allied Jewish Campaign.
Beginning Jan. 15-16 with
Federation/Campaign Shab-
bat and the Phonogift
women's appeal on Jan. 17
and 19, the Campaign will
get into full gear at the Super
Sunday Phonathon Jan. 24.
Hundreds of volunteers will
make calls asking Detroiters
to rise to the challenge to help
their fellow Jews in need here
and around the world.
During the following week,
youth groups, organizations,
congregations and the Jewish
Federation's Young Adult
Division will make calls on
behalf of the Campaign,
which benefits 60 agencies
here, in Israel and overseas.
Among the local agencies
that benefit are: Jewish
Federation Apartments,
Jewish Community Center,
Jewish Home for Aged, Agen-
cy for Jewish Education,
Hebrew Free Loan Associa-
tion, Sinai Hospital, Jewish
Vocational Service, Fresh Air
Society, Jewish Community
Council, Jewish Family Ser-
vice and Resettlement
Service.
Throughout Super Weeks,
contributors will be asked to
rise to the challenge — to give
just a bit more to the Cam-
paign. The new Challenge
Fund will make contributing
to the Campaign a double
mitzvah: For every dollar add-
ed to last year's contribution,
a matching dollar will go to
the Campaign. New donors
will see every new dollar mat-
ched with two.
