Stanley D. Klein, publisher of
the Exceptional Parent
magazine, will be the speaker
at "The Family Circle," a
parenting institute for fami-
ly members of people with
special needs 9 a.m.-noon Dec.
6 at the United Hebrew
Schools building.
There will be six workshops
for adults and several "Sib-
shops" for siblings of people
wth disabilities. Babysitting
will be provided for children
of all ages, including those
with special needs.
The adult workshops are:
"Creating Support Networks
through Family and Friends,"
for parents; "Becoming an Ac-
tive Partner in the Family
Circle," for extended mem-
bers; "Meeting the Chal-
lenges of a Child with Atten-
tion Deficit Disorder," for
parents; "Caring for the
Caregiver — Taking Care of
Yourself," for caregivers;
"Issues, Concerns and
Frustrations of Adult Sibl-
ings," for adult siblings; and
"Addressing the Concerns of
Your Non-Handicapped Chil-
dren," for parents.
Stanley Klein is professor of
psychology and director of the
Counseling Service at the
New England College of Op-
tometry in Boston. He is a
research associate in medi-
cine at Children's Hospital,
also in Boston.

Ruth Popkin

JNF Holds
Award Dinner

Ruth W. Popkin, president of
the JNF of America, will
speak at the Tree of Life
Award Dinner Dec. 1 in
Toledo, Ohio, at the Masonic
Great Hall.
At the dinner, Frederick W.
Rudolph and James E.
Salisbury will receive JNF's
Tree of Life Award, given in
recognition of professional,
humanitarian leadership as
well as community involve-
ment and dedication to the
cause of American-Israeli
friendship.
Frederick "Fritz" Rudolph
founded Rudolph/Libbe Inc., a
major construction company
in 1955 and today serves as
its chairman and president.
James E. Salisbury, a promi-
nent labor leader, is secretary
of the Northwest Ohio
Building Trades Council.
Mrs. Popkin, of New York
City, is an honorary vice
president of Hadassah, the
Women's Zionist Organiza-
tion of America. In 1984, she
was elected the 18th national
president of Hadassah and is
presently chairman of the
Hadassah Medical Organiza-
tion. Mrs. Popkin is a member
of the board of the American
Israel Public Affairs Commit-
tee, a vice president of the
American Zionist. Youth
Foundation, a member of the
executive board of the
American Zionist Federation,
co-treasurer of the World
Jewish Congress, a director of
the United Israel Appeal and
vice president of the National
Jewish Community Relations
Advisory Council (NJCRAC).
