Temple Israel
Concerts Planned

The second concert in the
Schmier Chapel Chamber
Series will take place 7:30
p.m. Nov. 22 at Temple Israel,
featuring the St. Clair Trio:
Emmanuelle Boisvert, Marcy
Chanteaux and Pauline
Martin.
Emmanuelle Boisvert was
the first woman to be ap-
pointed concertmaster of a
major orchestra. Marcy
Chanteaux succeeded Mischa
Kottler as the Detroit Sym-
phony pianist and was pro-
moted by Antal Dorati to
assistant principal cello.
Pauline Martin holds a Doc-
tor of Musical Arts degree
from the University of
Michigan and has appeared
as soloist with numerous
orchestras.
This series is sponsored by
Sinai Hospital. For com-
plimentary tickets and infor-
mation, call the temple office
661-5700.
"The Art of Food and Wine,"
an annual fund-raising event,
will be Jan. 6 at Temple
Israel. Proceeds help the tem-
ple's Caring Community and
educational programs.
Forty restaurants will par-
ticipate by providing main
dishes, desserts and premium
wines for tasting throughout
the evening. Scott Stern and
The Trust will provide the
entertainment. A silent auc-
tion and raffle will run
throughout the evening,
featuring such prizes as a trip
to the California wine coun-
try, theatre tickets, gift cer-
tificates and sports
memorabilia.

Chamber Group
Opens Series

The Lyric Chamber Ensem-
ble will open its new brunch
series 11:45 a.m. Nov. 22 at
the Gem Theatre with "Mor-
ning, Noon and Night in
Vienna," a concert of Strauss
waltzes, selections of German
operetta and songs by Kurt
Weill. A continental buffet
brunch will be served.
Tickets may be reserved by
calling the Lyric Chamber
Ensemble, 357-1111.
