To give their craft more pol-
ish, Ms. Shanker and Mr.
Price did volunteer work with
professional groups. She as-
sisted on a 30-minute come-
dy series on MTV, and he
interned with Second City in
Chicago.
As a group, they will be at-
tending, for the second time,
the U.S. College Festival at
Skidmore College in New
York. Comedians from a
dozen schools perform, ex-
change ideas and participate
in workshops.

Meese. As the opening act,
the troupe did an improvisa-
tional debate to break the ice.
Ms. Shanker reported that
religion plays an important
part in their work, both in
what they perform and in
their relationships: "We do a
lot of religious things because
it's something everybody can
relate to even if they're not re-
ligious."
Ms. Grayson added: "One
of the elements that brings us
together other than our love
of comedy is that we have cul-
tural similarities. We're all
Jewish, practicing to different
extents."
The troupe is looking for-
ward to March, when they
will go to Montreal for an im-
prov tournament. Until then,
they are circulating fliers and
hoping people who have seen
them will pass along the word
they are available to cus-
tomize programs for special
events.
"We're all looking for that
big break, and we're working
ourselves toward it," Ms.
Shanker said. "We're trying
to give ourselves every op-
portunity we can." U
