Beth Singer and Suzy Farbman

I. November 15th: the Michigan Flute Orchestra, under
the direction of Shaul Ben-Meir (flutist DSO) will perform a
variety of selections from the classics to pop. This concert
will also feature Vivaldi Concerto for Two Flutes and Flute
Choir, Shaul Ben-Meir and Alexander Zonjic soloists, and
also music from the Telemann Suite in A Minor. Come and
hear the glorious sound of what amounts to over a dozen
flutists performing on the same stage.

PHOTO ERROR

This is the real Beth
Singer and Suzy Farb-
man. Their names were
under the wrong photo last
week, but Mrs. Farbman
wasn't miffed because The
Jewish News highlighted
her son Andy Farbman in
the same issue. And his
photograph and athletic
abilities were showcased
properly.

DIFFERENT VIEW

Local Jewish actors are
learning about Catholic life
as members of the cast of the
play Do Black Patent Leather
Shoes Really Reflect Up?, a
satire of Catholic school edu
cation.
"I remember first seein -I
the show about 10 years ag•
at the Birmingham Theatre,
and although I didn't under-
stand a lot about Catholic
life, I still thought it was a
hysterical musical," said
Julie Yolles. Ms. Yolles is
now acting in the play and
learning a different view-
point along with Mark
Minkin and Heidi Schuster.
"I attended a Reform tem-
ple in Minneapolis, and
playing a Catholic boy cer-
tainly is a different experi-
ence for me," said Mr.
Minkin. "But the show is so
entertaining, it really ap-
peals to all religions," he
added.
Do Black Patent Leather
Shoes Really Reflect Up
opens at the Players Guild of
Dearborn on Nov. 13, with
additional shows on Nov. 14-
15, 20-22, 27-28. For ticket
information, call the Guild
at 561-TKTS.
